Perfect Sentiment - Inspired with Love

Do you love Spellbinders? Would you love a chance to win some? Become a follower! If I have over 100 followers by the end of the contest...I will include another set of Spellbinders!!!

It's Wednesday, so that means a new challenge at the Perfect Sentiment!  We all know that Valentine's Day is next week, so if you haven't yet, get started on those cards!!!!

This week's sponsor is Shelly's Image. Please make sure to check out the awesome designs! The winner of this week's challenge will be able to select one digital image from the shop!

This week's challenge is to make a card from inspirational picture and to include the sentiment of "Love".
Hopefully this picture will get those creative wheels turning!

I found the colors really striking.  I loved how much the white furniture popped with the pinks and greens. So I decided to make white the focus on my card.  I choose to emboss the design on it due to the print in the tablecloth.
Supplies:
Mohawk White Cardstock
Paper Studio Textured Cardstock
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
Studio G Stamp
ColorBox Pink Ink
Spellbinder Tag Diecut
Ribbon

What have you guys been up to? I gave myself the task of REALLY, and I mean REALLY, cleaning out my house.  What a way to start of the year, right? It ended up being a bigger task than I thought.  I forced myself to get rid of stuff that I have had for awhile, but not used.  But the good news is that I have much more empty closet space in EVERY room. I left my craft room as the last and proud to annoucnce that I finished today!  Maybe now I will have some time to be creative!
Have a great day!

Trying a New Technique

Happy Wednesday everyone!

This week's challenge at Perfect Sentiment was a challenge for me!  The challenge is to make a birthday card (no that was not the challenge for me), but the twist is to use the technique of resist embossing.  Need help?  Check out the this tutorial at Splitcoaststampers.

This week's sponsor is My Little Somethings.  The prize for a random choosen winner is a grab bag full or crafty supplies with the value of $15 (US participates only, international will receive a digi).

So this is the creation that I finally came up with...

Supplies:
Mohawk White Cardstock
Jillibean Soup Paper
Studio G Cupcake Stamp
Ditto Make a Wish Stamp
Colorbox Pink Ink
Memento Black Ink
Zing Embossing Powder
Misc. Ribbon

Nice and simple right?! Isn't it funny that sometimes the simplest cards take forever to complete!

Love Notes...

Welcome to a new year at Cardabilities!  The first sketch of 2012 is a fabulous one, but first let's introduce the new team:

Anna Iwanowska - Poland - returning
Amy Prior-Austrailia
Stephanie Lee-USA-returning
Jessica Pascarella-USA-returning
Sylvia Blum-Germany-returning
OK, you have been waiting for it, so here it is:

I went to my LSS this past week and came across one of the latest collections for Jillibean! I fell in love with the typewriters, so I decided that was going to be the focus for this sketch!

Drumroll please...

Supplies:
Bazzill Bitter Chocolate Cardstock
Jillibean Sweet & Sour Soup Collection
Recollection Green from Paper Pack
Spellbinders - Lacey Circles
Jillibean Twine
Paper Studios Heart Clip
Studio G Letter Stamps
Ribbon from Misc. stash
Popdot

Lots of layers going on here!  I could not stop! Which is not normal for me. I usually like to keep my cards simple, not too many layers. But what the heck, change can be good.

Thanks for stopping by! Looking forward to seeing your creation from this week's Cardabilities sketch!

 Have a great day!

Welcome to another "PERFECT" challenge!

Who is up for another Perfect Sentiment challenge?  This week's sponsor is Shelly's Images.  The winner from this week get to pick one digital image of their choice.  Please check out the wonderful images they have created!
This week's challenge is always a tough one for me--- Create a card with a sentiment of "sympathy". The twist is to use this picture as inspiration:

Jan2012insp
This is the card the eventually was created:

Supplies:
Bazzill Bitter Chocolate Cardstock
October Afternoon - Farmhouse Collection
Spellbinders - Labels Die Cuts
Inspired by Stamping - Doily Stamp
Studio G - Prayer Stamp
Paper Studio - Lace Ribbon
Paper Studio - Round Corner Punch
Paper Studio - Brown Ink

I always have a difficult time making sympathy cards. You work so hard to make it perfect, but there is always something I have doubts about. Well, I, unfortunately, need to a couple of sympathy cards this week. So, not only did I have a deadline to meet, I had a purpose for the card as well.  I know that there is nothing special or extravagant about this card, it is a basic/simple card. But I felt this was appropriate for the situation.  I also needed to make one for a teenage boy, who lost his mother. This started a new challenge, since I tend to add flowers and other "girly" stuff to sympathy cards. So here is another card I made:
Supplies:
Recollection - Cream Cardstock
Amy Butler Papers
Spellbinders - Labels Die Cuts
Michael's Pewter Ribbon
Inspired by Stamping - Doily Stamps
Studio G - Prayer Stamp

New Blog Makeover!!

New year, new blog look! Why not?  It was time for a fresh look! Lots of new and fun changes happening in 2012, so it was the right time! I still need to work on some small changes, but I am loving it already!

Created a simple card to share with ya'll! My niece's birthday is coming up! The big 3!  I have been sitting on this paper for a while! It was time to finally do something with it!

My latest technique has been hand-cutting (fussy-cutting) images from patterned papers. So of course, I had to add some dimension to the card...
Supplies:
Paper Studio Paper
Stardream Metallic Cardstock
Mohawk White Cardstock
Spellbinders - Pendants Die Cut
Studio G - Birthday Stamp
Pop Dots

Time to get off the computer and get some other work done! Hope everyone has a great day!

Peaceful Bliss

Happy Friday! I am enjoying it! I am currently kid-free and just got home for a shopping spree at my LSS! How much better can it get??

I was able to squeeze in some time to create a card for the fun or it! No deadlines, no requirements, just having fun! So I came across this week's challenge at The Play Date Cafe and had to participate! Challenge is to use the following colors: jupiter, mint and/or vanilla. That started the creative wheel turning. Next came the Create challenge: 3 flowers, 2 butterflies and 1 bird. As Barney (from How I met your Mother) would say, "Challenge accepted!)

Here is my creation:
Supplies:
Studio G Shaped Cards - Tag
DCWV Textured Cardstock
Studio G - Birthday Stamp
Lily Bee design Stamp - Bird
Stampabilities - Flowers
Great Impressions - Butterflies
Colorbox Frosty White Ink
Zing Opaque Embossing Powder
Michael's Ribbon
3D Popdot

I should probably enjoy the last few minutes of peace and quiet I have, before I have to go pick up the kiddos! I hope everyone has a great weekend and finds some time to create!

Joining the Perfect Sentiment Team!!!!!

I am pleased to announce that I have joined the design team at Perfect Sentiment! It is a fun challenge site with a creative twist. Please check it out HERE!
This week's challenge is to make a Valentine Day card using vellum!  We have an awesome sponsor for this week, Eye-Lets, Etc. The grand prize is a sheet of vellum stickers (US only- if winner is international, digital image will be sent). Please check them out HERE.

Vellum, Vellum, vellum...
I was stumped. I did not have any vellum sheets in the house, so I was creatively stuck. But vellum stickers to the rescue!!!  So I chose to cut a banner out and stick it onto pink cardstock and there I had it...vellum!

 So here is my creation:
Supplies:
Recollection Cardstock (White & Pink)
Bo Bunny Paper
Fiskars Heart Punch
Cuttlebug Divine Swirl Embossing Folder

So long 2011, welcome 2012!!!

So who is looking forward to 2012? I am!  I cannot wait to see what the New Year has in store for me! One good thing will be participating in one more term at Cardabilities!  You must come back and see the new ladies that will be joining us!

So here is the last sketch reveal from Cardabilities in 2011:

Here is my take:

Supplies:
October Afternoon Papers
Recollection Kraft Cardstock
Spellbinders - Lacey Circles, Circles, and Pendants
Fiskars Border Punch
Lily Bee design Alpha Stickers
Ribbon and Button from stash

I have not made many shaped cards before, so this is a challenge for me. I started with a folded cardstock and placed the diecut on the edge of the fold. Diecuts were also used for the circle and the pendant.  I cut patterned paper into strips and punched the borders with the scallop edge.  And adhered on top of each other to form the ruffles. Using a large glue dot, I used a ribbon to form the flower and placing the button in center.

I have a list of things I am going to (hoping to) be changing for the new year!  Organzing many things in my life.  People talk about spring cleaning...I alsways have New Years cleaning. I like to start of fresh!  Along with my house, I hope to change some things here on my blog. Problem is I'm not computer savvy enough to do it quickly, so it may take awhile to do so...but I WILL have it done by 2013 :)

Happy New Year everyone! Party like it's 2012, just do it safely!

Favorite Times & Seasons...

I just finished a project using Echo's Park Times and Seasons and was happy to see that I had plenty of scraps to make a card!  I needed a sketch for some inspiration and loved the one at Mojo Monday

Here is this week's sketch:

Here is my take:

Supplies:
Echo Park Times & Seasons Collection
Bazzill Bitter Chocolate Cardstock
Pop Dots
Adhesive

Lately I have been addicted to popdots and giving my projects some dimension.  I love the look of a card that "POPS"! I also love the pleats that you see all over the place. However, I don't feel as if I have mastered them yet. But, hoping the saying "Practice makes perfect." will take hold soon!

I will probably be spending the next few days baking. The kids and I have not been good about staying away from the baked goods, so I need to make sure there are some fresh ones for Santa.  I hope you all have a wonderful holiday!  See you next week!

Busy, busy...

I think that this will be my last holiday card!  After all the cards that went out in the mail and the cards for co-workers, bus drivers, teachers, etc I believe that I am done for this year. Have a great weekend everyone!

Eeek the holidays are coming...

I have been absent from the blogging world for the past week!  I haven't even had time to look around and "steal" some inspiration!  Are any of you finding that the holidays are coming too quickly?  I have been cranking out some crafts for teacher and co-workers gifts. I have seen this for the last few years and finally decided to do it.  I made tile coasters for gifts.  Here is one set using some Amy Butler paper.
I am also trying to figure out how to take better pictures with the camera I have.  (Better camera is on my Wish List!)

I was somewhat surprise on how easy these were to make. Tile, paper, mod podge and clear spray paint. Last touch cork backing and DONE!

Well, I need to get back to the craft room!  Got some deadlines coming up!

Have a great day!

Another amazing sketch at Cardabilities!

I am running somewhat behind due to the past holiday and currently playing catch up!

When I first saw the newest sketch from cardabilitites, I was stumped!  I ponder the possibilites with the sketch. I had never made a card with any elements that were off the card.  Here is the sketch, so you know what I mean:
Here is my card:
Supplies:
Bella Blvd Christmas Wishes
Paper Studio Cardstock
Recollections Cling Stamp
Buttons
Memento Black Ink
Adhesives

Make sure to play along with cardabilities!

So my list of to-dos and want to-dos keeps growing. I don't know why I do this to myself.  My latest thing I am thinking of adding is to do the December Daily. I have been seeing this awesome albums all over and am leaning towards completing one this year. I am trying to determine if I have the time, I do not want to start it and not complete it (will not be the first time).

What projects are you working on?

Have a great day!
