Prickley Pear Spring Blog Hop Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the Prickley Pear Spring Release Blog Hop! I hope you are enjoying the fun creations the design team has shared using the Prickley Pear Spring Release stamps! You should be arriving from Brenda's blog!

If you did not hop with us yesterday, there is still time. Check out the details on the Prickley Pear blog!

Here is my first creation using the Spring Crosses Clear Stamps 2 from the newest release:

I was in need of a bookmark for the missal I use each week at church. Once I saw the new Spring Crosses  clear stamps, I knew what I wanted to do. Using the Flourished Oval Nesting Die (D-043), I cut out 2 diecuts from a notebook style paper. In the middle of one of the ovals, I used the Cross Die(D-032) to cut out the cross shape. The next stamp is to stamp and color the cross image from Spring Crosses Clear Stamps 2 . The final touch was to add the gold ribbon.

Thank you for stopping by! The next stop is to the talented Jenn!

But before you leave, be sure to leave a comment! Each comment you leave along the hop, increases your chance to win one of two amazing prizes!

Have a wonderful day!

Unity Fun Friday!

It has been one of those lazy days around our house. The kids had a snow day, very unusual for us here in Texas. So we all are still in our jammies, playing games and getting inky!

So today, I decided it was time to make some fun Valentine cards, using some new paper and stamps from a recent purchase!

Here is one that I can show you today:

I love how fun and unique Unity Stamps are. I used their Itty Bitty Skip a Beat stamp for this card. I paired it up with some paper from the Crate Paper's Love Notes Collection. To add some texture to the card, I added some Trendy Twine - Tickled with Teal.

I decided that since I was playing with Unity, I was going to play along with a couple of Unity challenges. Below is the current Card Sketch for the Unity Challenge:

I also am entering into the Unity Friends With Flair that occurs every Friday!

Thanks for stopping by today! Stay warm! I think it is time for me to get out of these jammies and get ready for date night!

Prickley Hibiscus CAS Style

Hello, peeps! I hope everyone is enjoying this fine day! I know some of you are experiencing some cold, nasty weather, so hopefully this card will brighten your day :)

Today I am sharing my latest card from Prickley Pear! I am sticking to my normal style, CAS, with this card:

A simple border embossing is added to the white cardstock layer before attaching it to the card backing. A simple sentiment is stamped on the bottom right corner.

To add alittle "POP" to the card, I used the Hibiscus Die and colored in the stamp with bright fun colors. The die is attached to the card using a foam dot.

Have you heard about the Prickley Pear Blog Hop going on next week? It starts on the 25th. There will be 3 full days of a variety of projects showcasing Prickley Pear's Spring Release! I hope you will stop by and check it out!

Have a great day!

2013 Publication Tryouts = 2014 Blog Projects

I don't know about you, but I get in an organizing frenzy when the New Year hits. I spend the first few weeks going through EVERYTHING and purge! So today's task...computer files. I am going through all my picture files and organizing them into categories.

As I am completing this 'fun' task, I am coming across a few projects that were publication rejects and I never got around to creating a post for these beauties!!!

First up is a card I made with Neat and Tangled Stamps! I love paper-piecing with this fun stamp set!

I started to play with watercolors a few months ago! I am in love with getting the paint and water out to create a card! Here is one of my favorite cards I have made with watercolors! The large floral stamps from Inspired by Stamping are perfect for this technique!!!

OK, I guess I should get back to my fun organizing task! I will be back soon to share more projects that I have in the works!!!

Time to Catch Up!!!

Now that the kiddos are back in school, it is time to play catch up! I didn't realize that I missed a few Prickley Pear projects, so I am adding them today!

With the past few months pretty much as hectic as possible, I have been leaning on my crutch (CAS!!!).

First one up was made to celebrate the Christmas holiday:

Second on up was for the New Year celebration:

Well, back to work! I am off to create with some fun, new stamps coming from Prickley Pear!!!

Christmas Folk Art Decor

Hello, Prickley Pear friends! It is Jessi from Kissin' Krafts. Today I am sharing one of my favorite Christmas traditions. It is decorating the house.

My Christmas decor is full of handmade folk art created by my grandmother. She is a talented artist, who created Santas from different periods and countries throughout the times.

My favorite Santa, along with the family Elf, Lucas.

I am fortunate to receive a couple of larger Santas as well.

Another Christmas decor that my grandmother created, is a Wooden Village. The village consists of 10 buildings. All handpainted with amazing details.

My grandmother's work has been published in several Better Homes and  Garden magazines years ago. This village was even the cover for one of them!

Thank you for stopping by today!

PPRS Monday Brrrrrrrrr

Who would like a hot cup of chocolate? I know that most of the US is experiencing a strong cold blast. It is cold here in Texas, but missing the snow. So why not create a card to fill the snow void? One of my favorite Prickley Pear stamp is the Swirls and Snowflakes. It is the highlight of this card, along with some other Prickley Pear goodies!

Here is my wintry creation:

The snowflake and swirls stamp is used in a variety of blues and gray. The sentiment die is colored in with makers. A simple ribbon is added across the card.

Please stop by the Prickley Pear store to see the amazing selection of rubber stamps and clear stamps available!

Have a great day!

Get, Inky! Challenge - Christmas

Are you ready for the next Get, Inky! Challenge? With Christmas only a few weeks away, why not continue to show off your holiday creations! Please stop by the Get, Inky! Challenge blog to see the rules and details.

Here is my Christmas creation using the Get, Inky! Stamps 2013 Holiday Stamp set:

I used the holly stamp from the Holiday stamp set repeatedly along the border. The holly stamp is perfect to color in with markers. I love to practice my coloring skills. I am still a beginner, but I think it is getting easier. To highlight the holly, a small red sequin to the center of each one.

To finish the card, I added a simple sentiment. The sentiment is colored in with a variety yellows.

Thank you for stopping by! Be sure to see the latest challenge and details over on the Get, Inky! Challenge.

Have a great day!

PPRS Holiday Monday

Yes, it is finally December! Bring the decorations out and crank up the Christmas music!

Welcome to Prickley Pear Monday! I have a simple holiday card to share with you today!

Using the Prickley Pear's Flourished Ovals 3 Holidays stamp set:

I wanted the card to look like a door, so I added the woodgrain embossing to the back layer. The stamp looks like a wreath, so I pieced it together.

I hop you will stop by the Prickley Pear blog to see some more amazing projects from their talented DT.

December Trendy Twine Challenge

Welcome to the new Trendy Twine Challenge! With the holidays here, we are thinking of gift wrapping ideas, right! I will admit, this is a challenge for me. As you can see, I keep my gift wrapping simple.

The challenge is to use twine on your Holiday gift wrapping. Cannot be any simpler!

Here is my gift-wrapping idea using one of the newest Trendy Twine colors, Cherry Limeade:

To add alittle something to the gift wrapping, I added bells to the bottom of the twine bows.

Check out the new holiday colors in the Trendy Twine Store!
