Hi, Friend! - DCWV

Happy Friday, all! I am excited! I found time to make a card for FUN! I have tried for the past few days, but my creative mojo has not been present! I came across a challenge from DCWV and loved the sketch!

I loved how this card turned out. I was smiling as I was making it!

The only bad thing about crafting this card, now I am out of foam dots! Guess I will be making a trip to the store!

So how old are ya?

Hello, everyone! Today I am showcasing the new 'No Sign' gelly jr's. When I received this stamp, I really wanted to fussy-cut the sign. But I was not very successful. (So, please share any projects that you create with this sign cut out!)

I created a card that can be taken a few ways. It can go to someone who is turning 30, but doesn't want to accept it. Or it can be given to someone who is over the age, but not admitting their true age.

Since I was not able to cut out the design, I ended stamping over the number stickers.

The 'happy birthday' sentiment is stamped around the 'No Sign'. I thought about leaving the white space alone, but decided to add a die-cut banner.

Even birds are KRAZY for Twine!

Hello, Trendy Twiners! Thanks for stopping by today! As you may know we are featuring Krazy for Kraft for the month of August. Today, I am sharing a project with you out of my comfort zone! I decided that the Kraft Twine would be perfect for the roof of a birdhouse.

So here you have it:

I spent almost the entire day trying to figure out how I was going to decorate the birdhouse. I tried flowers and could not get them to work for me. So I decided that I would add a simple banner on the front. (Of course, using the same twine to hang the banner.)

Trendy Beach Summer!

Hello, everyone! Thank you for stopping by today!  Over at Trendy Twine, the design is sharing their beach creations using Krazy for Kraft Twine. Please stop by to see some amazing projects that are sure inspire you!

Here is my creation:

I have been seeing the sun-bursts all over pinterest and knew that I wanted to use that in this creation! Also, I used washi tape to create the ocean "waves". To create the effect, I folded over the top of each row.

I love this definition stamp! I decided to stamp the words around the edge to create border around the beach scene.

Thinking of Holidays!

Happy Monday, everyone! Hope you had a great weekend! Can you believe that the holiday season is around the corner? Have you started to design your holiday cards? Is it too early? Never!

As you have seem before, the design team is highlighting the new gelly jrs. that have been released. There are a number of jrs that would be perfect for holiday cards! You have seen the pine tree before, but possibilities with this one stamp are endless! I love it!

I am in love with kraft and white ink! I think it is a beautiful combination! When I got my hands on the stamp, I knew exactly what I wanted to do!

Here it is:

This card is very simple to create! All I did was stamp the pine image sideways over and over in the stamp of the tree. I started on the bottom and created one row at a time. Once I had the tree created, I stamped a few more images to cover up the holes.  I finished the card with a simple sentiment and mounted the cardstock with foam dots to the card.

What do you think? This would make a great card with green ink and adding buttons as ornaments! I might have to give that a try!

Digging my way out of ribbon!

So I am trying to conquer the major project of organizing all my craft supplies/work area.  Now it has been a month or two project and I am finally getting to end (I think) of the process! I am at the point where I am trying to organize all the supplies into a better system. 

My latest focus has been on what to do with the massive amounts of ribbon that I have.  Before I moved my crafting space to a different part of the house, I had my printed ribbon in baskets and solid ribbons on a peg board. I am trying to find a way that looks "cleaner". So where do I go for inspiration and awesome ideas? Pinterest, of course!

So as I looked for ribbon storage ideas, I came across this pin. I really liked the fact that you can actually see the designs/patterns on the ribbon! So I added this to the TO-DO projects!  Well, last night I decided that while I watched the Olympics, it was the perfect time to tackle the ribbon!

Here is what I it looked like before I started (had 3 buckets and a box full of ribbon):

My main focus was the printed ribbon (mainly). Most of the pieces had 4 ft or less. (If it had more, I left it on the ribbon spool).  So by the end of the Olympics, I finished the project!

I love how I now can go to ONE location and actually see the design on the ribbon!

I am so glad that I did this! Now I need to figure out what to do with the solid ribbon! And there is TONS of those!

Hello, everyone! It's is Jessi with you today!  Today we will continue to showcase the Gel-a-tins newest releases- gelly jrs!

When I received the STOP sign gelly, I pondered for a few days to finalize the project I wanted to share with you guys.  I could not decide on one card, so today, I will be sharing two with you.

The first card is a CAS card with the STOP sign popping of the card with a foam dot.

The second card I wanted to make using a variety of symbols to make the message:

I also wanted to share a quick tip with you guys. Do you have trouble getting the ink to transfer to your clear stamps smoothly? I found this wonderful tip on how to help have a solid image when it came to stamping. First, cover the stamp/image that you are going to use with Versamark Watermark Ink pad. Then add the color you will be stamping the image in. And voila!

A Simple, But 'Trendy' Twine

Hello, Trendy Twiners! Thanks for stopping by today! Sometimes as I am creating a card/project, I stare at what I think is the final product. I stare at it thinking there is something missing. My favorite go-to product is of course TWINE! There are so many things that you can do with twine, from a simple bow to creating a detailed twine embellishment. On my card today, I thought a simple twine bow would do the trick!

Celebrate Summer

Well, summer is half over. That means we are getting closer and closer to school starting up again! (Is it bad that I am too excited for that fact?)  Any who!

Today I am sharing a quick card I created using American Crafts Margarita Collection.

Here is the card creation:

To make part of the city "pop" I used foam dots on the bottom row of building.  The sun is cut out of one of the papers from the collection. The cloud is hand-cut.  The stamp is from a Dear Lizzy Stamp Set.

I know that this is a quick post! Just wanted to add one during this busy weekend! Hope everyone is enjoying the summer and are able to soak up some sunshine!

Here is my CAS card I made using an image from Just Some Lines.

Since I am not that great at coloring, so I thought this image would be best printed on kraft cardstock. I added a simple sentiment to the card. To add some color I added a strip of patterned paper from Echo Park.

Doodleflower Fun!

Happy Wednesday, Gel-a-tin fans! I hope you have been enjoying the DT projects featuring the new gelly jrs! There have been so many inspiring projects so far!

I am excited to share with you this card I made using the 'Doodle Flower" gelly jr. stamp.

The flower is perfect for cutting out and adding to any project!  So get those scissors ready to fussy-cut! Along with cutting around the flower, I cut down the sides of each petal. This allowed each petal to be folded to add dimension to the card.

The doodle flower is a perfect size to add a button for the center of the flower!
