Back with another Perfect Sentiment Challenge!

So it has been a few weeks of stress, madness, relaxation, and relief (kids are back in school)! It seems like it has been ages since I have been in the blogger world. Let's see if I remember how to do this?!?!

Since it is Wednesday, it means there is a new challenge at The Perfect Sentiment! This week's challenge is to make a card with the sentiment of "Thanks" using the technique of distressing.  (Any form of distressing is allowed.)

We have a great sponsor this week-- Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps

This week's randomly selected winner will receive a $10 Store Voucher use in their store! How great is that?

Here is my creation for the "Thanks" card using distressing:

There are a number of distressing techniques that can be used. I choose to ink the edges of the Spellbinders die cut to make the "aged" look to match the distressed looking paper.

Supplies:
Recollection Kraft Cardstock
Paper Studios Pattern Papers
Fiskars Butterfly Punch
Spellbinders Scalloped Ovals
Stampabilities Thanks Stamp
Hobby Lobby Ribbon
Paper Studios Brown Ink
Popdots

At a recent trip to my local Hobby Lobby, I found that they have added some new papers to their paper aisle! What amazing designs they have to offer, the ideas started to flow!

Please stop by the other Perfect Sentiment Design Team Members for amazing inspiration!
So during part of my haitus from blogging, my husband had a business conference in NYC. Because I was in a major need of a vacation, I tagged along! This was my first trip to the Big Apple and it was AWESOME! I cannot wait to go again!  Here are a couple of pictures:

Here is my take:

Supplies:
Recollection Cardstock
Lily Bee Designs Patterned Papers
Michael's Ribbon
Studio G Stamp
Misc. Brad

I bought this ribbon awhile ago from those $1.00 bins at Michaels. I never really knew what I would do with it, but FINALLY this flower idea popped into my head!  I see everyone making beautiful ribbon flowers, but I never really have much luck.  I was pleasantly happy to see that this was wired ribbon, making it much easier for me :)

I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday! I am hoping things slow done soon, so I can get some crafting done!  Cannot wait to see what you come up with. If you need more inspiration, please visit the rest of the Perfect Sentiment Team members!

Perfect Sentiment - Inspired with Love

Do you love Spellbinders? Would you love a chance to win some? Become a follower! If I have over 100 followers by the end of the contest...I will include another set of Spellbinders!!!

It's Wednesday, so that means a new challenge at the Perfect Sentiment!  We all know that Valentine's Day is next week, so if you haven't yet, get started on those cards!!!!

This week's sponsor is Shelly's Image. Please make sure to check out the awesome designs! The winner of this week's challenge will be able to select one digital image from the shop!

This week's challenge is to make a card from inspirational picture and to include the sentiment of "Love".
Hopefully this picture will get those creative wheels turning!

I found the colors really striking.  I loved how much the white furniture popped with the pinks and greens. So I decided to make white the focus on my card.  I choose to emboss the design on it due to the print in the tablecloth.
Supplies:
Mohawk White Cardstock
Paper Studio Textured Cardstock
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
Studio G Stamp
ColorBox Pink Ink
Spellbinder Tag Diecut

What have you guys been up to? I gave myself the task of REALLY, and I mean REALLY, cleaning out my house.  What a way to start of the year, right? It ended up being a bigger task than I thought.  I forced myself to get rid of stuff that I have had for awhile, but not used.  But the good news is that I have much more empty closet space in EVERY room. I left my craft room as the last and proud to annoucnce that I finished today!  Maybe now I will have some time to be creative!
Have a great day!

Trying a New Technique

Happy Wednesday everyone!

This week's challenge at Perfect Sentiment was a challenge for me!  The challenge is to make a birthday card (no that was not the challenge for me), but the twist is to use the technique of resist embossing.  Need help?  Check out the this tutorial at Splitcoaststampers.

This week's sponsor is My Little Somethings.  The prize for a random choosen winner is a grab bag full or crafty supplies with the value of $15 (US participates only, international will receive a digi).

So this is the creation that I finally came up with...

Supplies:
Mohawk White Cardstock
Jillibean Soup Paper
Studio G Cupcake Stamp
Ditto Make a Wish Stamp
Colorbox Pink Ink
Memento Black Ink
Zing Embossing Powder
Misc. Ribbon

Nice and simple right?! Isn't it funny that sometimes the simplest cards take forever to complete!

Welcome to another "PERFECT" challenge!

Who is up for another Perfect Sentiment challenge?  This week's sponsor is Shelly's Images.  The winner from this week get to pick one digital image of their choice.  Please check out the wonderful images they have created!
This week's challenge is always a tough one for me--- Create a card with a sentiment of "sympathy". The twist is to use this picture as inspiration:

Jan2012insp
This is the card the eventually was created:

Supplies:
Bazzill Bitter Chocolate Cardstock
October Afternoon - Farmhouse Collection
Spellbinders - Labels Die Cuts
Inspired by Stamping - Doily Stamp
Studio G - Prayer Stamp
Paper Studio - Lace Ribbon
Paper Studio - Round Corner Punch
Paper Studio - Brown Ink

I always have a difficult time making sympathy cards. You work so hard to make it perfect, but there is always something I have doubts about. Well, I, unfortunately, need to a couple of sympathy cards this week. So, not only did I have a deadline to meet, I had a purpose for the card as well.  I know that there is nothing special or extravagant about this card, it is a basic/simple card. But I felt this was appropriate for the situation.  I also needed to make one for a teenage boy, who lost his mother. This started a new challenge, since I tend to add flowers and other "girly" stuff to sympathy cards. So here is another card I made:
Supplies:
Recollection - Cream Cardstock
Amy Butler Papers
Spellbinders - Labels Die Cuts
Michael's Pewter Ribbon
Inspired by Stamping - Doily Stamps
Studio G - Prayer Stamp

Joining the Perfect Sentiment Team!!!!!

I am pleased to announce that I have joined the design team at Perfect Sentiment! It is a fun challenge site with a creative twist. Please check it out HERE!
This week's challenge is to make a Valentine Day card using vellum!  We have an awesome sponsor for this week, Eye-Lets, Etc. The grand prize is a sheet of vellum stickers (US only- if winner is international, digital image will be sent). Please check them out HERE.

Vellum, Vellum, vellum...
I was stumped. I did not have any vellum sheets in the house, so I was creatively stuck. But vellum stickers to the rescue!!!  So I chose to cut a banner out and stick it onto pink cardstock and there I had it...vellum!

 So here is my creation:
Supplies:
Recollection Cardstock (White & Pink)
Bo Bunny Paper
Fiskars Heart Punch
Cuttlebug Divine Swirl Embossing Folder
Studio G Stamp
Twine and Ribbon from Stash
Pop-dots

Please stop by the rest of the Perfect Sentiment team for more Valentine inspiration:

Busy, busy...

I think that this will be my last holiday card!  After all the cards that went out in the mail and the cards for co-workers, bus drivers, teachers, etc I believe that I am done for this year. I think I will get back to regular cards... but I will admit that I had some fun with this one. I have been seeing these ornament balls on several projects and finally got around to it :)

Paper Studio Textured Cardstock
Spellbinders -
Recollection "NOEL" Clear Stamp
Martha Stewart Fine Glitter
Ribbon
Brown Ink
Pop-Dots

This card has been entered into the following challenges:

Perfect Sentiment -CASE Challenge

Like many of you, I am coming off a busy past few days and trying to play catch on a number of things!  I will have to come back in a few hours to fill in the rest of this post!!!
............................................................................................
This is a fun week at Perfect Sentiment!  The awesome design team are making cards of their choice!  The challenge to you...CASE one of the design team's card.  Simple and easy, don't you think?

This week's sponsor is The Digital Emporium of Paper Expressions. This week's winner will win 3 digital stamps of their choice!  Exciting!

Here is my card for the Perfect Sentiment Challenge - CASE one of the designers cards this week.  Here is my card:

Supplies:
Paper - Imaginisce
 Slice - Words & Expressions
Buttons
Martha Stewart Mirco Beads
Glue Dots
Pop - dots

I decided to dust off the Slice machine for this card.  The saying once merged into one image, but I cut the individual words. To seperate the words, I used pop-dots to add some dimension to the card.

I tried something for the first time. Don't know if I like it enough to do again...  I attached a glue dot to the front of the buttons and covered them with micro beads.  But I will admit, it gives the card alittle spark.

Oh sweet baby X4!

I am sure that all of you have caught yourself staring at a blank cardstock, stumped on where to go.  Trying one thing, not liking it and starting over. Well, this week's Perfect Sentiment Challenge came at the right time!  Two weeks ago, some dear friends were blessed with quads! So how do you make a card for 4 babies and they are not the same sex? So I knew at the beginning that I needed to use stitching (one of this week's challenge).  And off I went...
This week's challenge is to make a baby card with some sort of stitching (faux, hand, machine, etc).
This week's sponsor is

She has offered a mini Stampin' Up!® set called Something for Christmas for this week's prize!
