Warm BRI Hugs and Kisses

Hello, Butterfly Reflections friends! It is Jessi from Kissin' Krafts and I am excited to share with you a fun and simple card!

When I saw this fun scene paper in the AC Jack Frost 6X6 pad, I wanted to create a scene with this adorable penguin from Winnie & Walter.

The scenery paper is used for the back layer of the card. The snowdrifts are created with white cardstock and snowdrift dies (similar to these in the BRI shop). The image is stamped/colored/amd cut out. A sentiment is stamped to follow the flow of the snowdrift. To finish the card, I attached a few punched out snowflakes.

Thank you for stopping by today! Don't forget to stop by the shop for the special sale going on now!

Let it Snow with DCWV

Hello, everyone! It is Jessi from Kissin' Krafts! I am excited to be sharing my first DCWV blog post with you today! Let be give you a piece of information about myself. I LOVE to make cards and I LOVE to have layers on them! Today's card is no different!

Using some fun papers from the DCWV Candy Cane Lane stack:

I love the pocket-style designs available in the DCWV stacks. They make it super easy to create a card for any occasion. After I decided on with design to use, I cut out the back layer in a matching print. Now it is time to create the mat for the pocket design. Using DCWV Chalkboard paper, I cut the mat and stamped white snowflakes along the border. Once the snowflakes were dry (Fyi-it takes a long time for the ink to dry on chalkboard paper. So you might want to run a hairdryer over it for a few seconds.) Now it is time to piece the card together! (It is hard to see with the black layer, but the top layer is attached with foam dots to add dimension to the card).

Thank you for stopping by today! Be sure to stop by the DCWV Facebook for more DCWV inspiration!

Merry Christmas to all!

Merry Christmas to all!
I hope you are having a wonderful and peaceful day!

The Trendy Twine design team is getting together today to share some fun and festive cards to you!
I wanted to share a simple card with you!

I love the bold combination of red, black and white. I think it is a fun, non-traditional holiday color combo. So I created this card below.

However, it is not Christmas without a touch of green. I added the fun Trendy Twine Cherry Limeade at the top of the card. To add more green, a couple of green (and red) sequins are scattered on the card.  So simple and so pretty!

Simple Deer Card

Hello, friends! Today I wanted to share a simple card with you!

Deer is a current trend going around in the crafting and home decor world. So I decided it was time to join in the fun!

Flipping around the DCWV Winter in the Woods stack, I came across this precious deer head image! I loved how simple it was and wanted to keep it that way! I cut out the pocket style design and added a little nose on the deer. I attached the layer to a foil-lined premade card (also DCWV). My whole goal was to create a simple card, but I felt that the card needed something else. so to finish off the card, I add a couple DCWV Mirrored Stars.

I opted not to include a sentiment, allowing this card to fit many different occasions!

Thank you for stopping today! Have a wonderful day!

Simple DCWV Gift Card Holders

I am so excited to be sitting down and creating with some new DCWV Holiday goodies! I love the colors and how they provide precut pieces to make you projects easier!

I don't know about you, but I am in the mist of wrapping present in my household. The items seem to always be gift cards. I don't like to present the card in a normal envelope (which sadly, I have done). Then the precut scalloped edge cardstock dropped in my hands and I knew exactly what I wanted to do! So bring out the ribbon on before you know it, you have a bundle of elegant gift card holders!

1) Measure and score lines to create the envelope (this one measures to be 3.5 inches tall). There was extra cardstock with these measurements, so just cut of the excess.

2) Using a fancy shape die, create the gift card matting with a solid (matching) cardstock. Cut slits into the diecut, allowing the card to slide into place.

3) Cut ribbon long enough to wrap and tie around the holder. Before you form the bow, slide on the precut tag. Tie bow and you are finished!

 4) Now repeat :)

You can mix and match the pieces to create a variety of gift card holders!

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you have been inspired to create your own gift card holders!

Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft and DCWV Blog Hop

All week long we are partnering with Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft®  for a Winter blog hop! I am excited to be a part of this fun hop, today! There are many prizes to be won so make sure you stop by both blogs and each DT blog each day!

On to my project! I created this window-style card below, using the DCWV Winter in the Woods Stack.

To start off, I knew that I wanted to have snowflakes on my card. I used a snowflake punch to create the flakes. I covered each one with the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Glass Bead Glitter Gel.

Now it is time to create the layers of the card! I found this beautiful snowflake patterned paper (below) and colored it with a few strokes of the Metallic Mint Double Scoop Gelatos. I used a small piece of a baby wipe to blend the color around.

I found a cute deer on one of the papers in the Winter in the Woods Stack. I decided to fussy-cut the image out. To add the effect of snow, I added Glitter Glass Bead Gel to the back and the head of the deer. Once the gel was dried, it was time to piece together the card.  To create the window, I used an oval diecut on the top layer of the card.

Don't forget to leave them some love; leave a comment on the DCWV and on the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft®  blog to be eligible to win this weeks prizes! Here at DCWV there will THREE prizes; $50.00 worth of scrapbooking supplies for each person! We will be announcing the winner Monday the 15th on Facebook so be sure you are following us over there!

Trendy Twine 12 Days of Christmas Day 7

Hello, friends! It is Jessi from Kissin' Krafts and I am excited to be back on the wonderful Trendy Twine design team! My project today is part of the Trendy Twine 12 Days of Christmas (Day 7).

These candy boxes make for a simple, yet perfect gift! They can be used for a variety of occasions, and of course, holiday gift giving! All you have to do is fill with a yummy candy and attach a fun tag and you are finished.

For this project, I stamped an festive image on white cardstock. Once the coloring was finished, the image is cut out and attached to the front of the tag.  To finish the project, a fun sentiment is stamped on the backside of the tag. The tag is attached to the candy box with a double shoelace tie of Cherry Limeade twine.

Trendy Twine's Christmas Tin Blog Hop

Good Morning and welcome to the
Trendy Twine Christmas Tin Blog Hop
a perfect way to start December and the start of a special 12 days of Christmas celebration where the DT will be WOWing you all with creative gift giving ideas using Trendy Twine (of course) as well as other products found in the Trendy Twine store. But we will have more on that tomorrow.
Today the DT is showcasing all the different "tins" that are offered in the Trendy Twine store and getting you all in the gift giving mood!
So sit back, grab your favorite beverage and get ready to be inspired!

If you have been hopping along with the Trendy Twine blog hop, you should be arriving from the talented, Melissa's blog! If you happen to be joining the hop midway, feel free to start the hop HERE at the Trendy Twine blog!

On to my project! The square tin I am highlighting is this beauty in the Trendy Twine store, HERE!

When I first saw these tins, I knew I wanted to make a shaker top. To create the shaker, I stamped and colored the snowman image. The snowman is attached with a foam dot after the twine scarf (using Cherry Limeade) is added. I also used foam dots cut into small pieces to line the edge of the tin lid. I filled the lid with a variety of sequins and inserted the snowman image/patterned paper into the top. To finish the project, I simply wrapped the twine (also Cherry Limeade) around the lid.

I hope you enjoyed the hop! Don't forget to leave a comment on the blogs for your chance to win one of the blog hop's prizes!

Two winners will receive a spool of Trendy Twine Candy Cane Twine! (Must comment and follow all the blogs!)

WCMD Honorable Mention at PCS Magazine! Please VOTE!

I am excited to share today's card with you! A few weeks ago, Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine announced their "Honorable Mentions" for the World Card Making Day Contest! I was super excited to see my name listed for the 'Love' catergory!

Starting today, PCS Magazine is holding a contest for the 'Honorable Mentions' from the WCMD contest. Stop over HERE to find out more about the contest and how to vote for my card! I appreciate all your help!!!

I hope you like it as much as I had fun making it!

This card uses the 'inlay' technique with a variety of dies. To start the card I used the polaroid die from Echo Park to cut out of the back layer of the card. Using the same die, I cut the shape out of another patterned paper and slide into the empty space on the blue backing. The frame showcased the white space on the card base, so I decided to leave that empty. The wooden accents (Studio Calico) are glued to the card base. The simple sentiment (Sweet Stamp Shop) is stamped onto the frame. (It is hard to see in the picture, but I colored and cover the heart with Glossy Accents). To finish the card, I stamped the card sentiment (Sweet Stamp Shop) onto a banner diecut and attached to the card on a foam dot. I wrapped some red Americna Crafts ribbon underneath the banner.

Please stop on over to the Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking blog to vote!
Hopefully for my card...hint, hint :)

Isn't Watercoloring FUN!!!???

So a few weeks ago, I submitted a handful or so of cards to a World Cardmaking Day Contest. Sadly, I didn't win! (However, one of my cards was chosen as an Honorable Mention!) But the good news... I can start showing some of the cards!

The card below was one of my favorite that I sent in!

Who doesn't love messing around with watercolors?! I love how it is perfectly OK to make a mistake and make it look like it was on purpose! The first step was to stamp and emboss the image (Delicate Blooms by Hero Arts) in white. Once the image was dry, it was time to watercolor!

I added a simple sentiment (from the Red & Goldie stamp set by Avery Elle) stamped in black. The last step was to create the card mat and attach to the card base!

Thank you for stopping by today! Check back soon for my of my WCMD creations! Including my 'Honorable Mention'!

CAS Watercolor card

Hello, Butterfly Reflections, Ink friends! I am excited to be filling in today on the BRI blog!

Today's project is showcasing some of the exclusive stamps from Butterfly Reflections, Ink! For my project, I used the Over the Rainbow stamp set.

So I found some pearlescent watercolors and fell in love with the additional sparkle it added to the projects! I was dying to use one to make a night sky. To start, I stamped the images and embossed them as well. Once the embossing had time to dry, I painted the night with silver metallic paint. I thought the card needed a little something extra, so I stamped the red heart.

What a very simple and so so easy to create!

DCWV Memory Tray

Happy Hump Day everyone!!!!

I bought this memory tray frame a few months and finally got around to using it!  I loved the colors in the DCWV's Honey Chic Stack paper pad and knew right away what picture I wanted to use! Earlier this year my husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary. To make the day more special, we decided to renew our wedding vows with our kids in attendance. It was truly a wonderful day and deserved a wonderful crafting project!

I love how simple this frames can be to complete! Having a paper pad makes it so easy to pair up prints and patterns!  The photo layout is create with two prints/patterns under the photo. Then I fussy-cut the floral design from another print in the same paper pad. The floral cutout is placed over the corner of the photo. The reminder parts of the frame are just as easy! The paper flowers are created using a circle punch. Foam letter stickers make an easy title/sentiment of the layout.

Thank you for stopping by! Hope to see you back again!

Oh, the places you'll go Layout- DCWV

Happy Friday, all!  I know I have been slow with my postings for a few weeks, but I am back! Don't worry, I have been crafting! I just have been focusing on creating projects for contest, publications, etc! So I cannot share those projects yet!

But I have one to show you today!

How about a layout! That might be a nice change!

Here is my layout using papers from the DCWV Baby Boy Stack paper pad:

The layout started with a patterned paper with the hot air balloons. As you probably know, paper pads provide multiple pages of the same design. So I took the matching paper and cut out some of the hot air balloons and attached them with pop dots to add dimension to the layout. I Also, added a couple extra cloud die cuts to the scene. The rest of the layout is pretty simple (my kind of style)! The layout title is created with two colors of alpha letter stickers.

Thank you for stopping by! Please come back soon to see more creations!

Have a wonderful weekend!
