Joy Clair - Send Me & Nativity Bible Pages

Hello, Joy Clair friends! Today I am excited to share with you two of my latest Bible journaling pages. Both pages are using some of the newest stamp sets from Joy Clair, as well as different techniques.

The first page is created using the Send Me stamp set:

I really love the suitcase image in the stamp set. I wanted to use the paper-piecing technique for the image. The suitcases are stamped on three different prints and hand cut. I attached a panel made out of a simple print to the side panel of the Bible page. The suitcases are attached towards the bottom of the page. To fill in the rest of the panel, I used a variety of stamps. One of the main focuses on the page is the gold embossed 'go'. The word is stamped half on the Bible page and half on the print panel. The pop of gold adds an unique touch to the page.

Next up is the Christmas Nativity stamp set:

Sometimes I like to explore different ideas for stamp set. They are usually designed for a certain theme or verse, but I try to show additional ways to expand the stamps. For the Christmas Nativity stamp set, I created a non-Christmas Bible page. I used the angel image and repeatedly stamped on the page using the masking technique. To make the angels pop more, I colored in the skin and hair different colors. The word title for the page is created using a variety of alpha stickers.

Joy Clair's Flamingo Bible Page

Hello, Joy Clair friends!!! Today I am super excited to share one of the latest Bible pages. I could not wait to get to work with the Color by Faith's Be a Flamingo stamp set! I did have a hard time deciding which one to work with first...flamingos or the pineapple. Flamingos it was!

Here is my page using the Color by Faith's Be a Flamingo set:

To start this page, I stamped the flamingos at the bottom of the page. I did use the masking technique on the two flamingos on the right side of the page. In doing this technique, it gives the illusion that one flamingo is standing behind another one.

I used Prima Watercolors to color in that scene. I used a pink for the flamingos. A tan for the beach. A dark blue for the ocean water and a lighter blue for the sky.  Once the watercolor was dry, I stamped a variety of the word stamps from the Flamingo stamp set.

This Place is Not My Home

Hello, Joy Clair friends! It is Jessi from the Joy Clair Design Team. How many of you love to camp in the summer? I think it would be fun...until I think about sleeping in the hot, sticky night and that changes my mind. Now, if I had access to a camper, that might change my mind...might.

Today I am using a number of different Joy Clair sets to create this Bible journaling page below:

To start this page, I stamped the camper image from the Happy Camper stamp set. I stamped an additional camper onto paper and use it for the masking around the camper. I wanted to make it look like the camper was moving, so I added exhaust behind the camper by stamping the bubbles from the Anchor of Hope stamp set.

The next step is to add the trees to the scene. I stamped a couple onto paper from masking process. The trees are from the Happy Camper stamp set. To add the mountain background, I placed the masking trees in place and stamped the mountains. The mountains and clouds are from the Wild and Free stamp set.

The entire page is colored in using Zig Clean Color Watercolor markers. I wanted to add stars to the sky. I wanted to try something instead of white paint splatters. I used NUVO White enamel drops to create the starry sky. Once the stars were dry, I added the stickers for the wording on the page.

Joy Clair - Baby Wipe Technique

Hello, Joy Clair friends! It is Jessi from the Joy Clair Design Team. Do you have certain supplies that you tend to rely on when journaling in your Bible? I tend to use a lot of watercolors. I recently started to use more gelatos and water crayons. I have found that they are super easy to blend with a simple baby wipe.

Today's project will be focusing on the super cute Color By Faith's Anchor of Hope stamp set:

I wanted the water to look darker the deeper it went on the page. So I decided to use the ombre effect (same color group, starting with the lightest to the darkest). Below is a sample of how I applied the crayons to the Bible page. I started with the lightest at the top and had the darkest blue at the bottom. I blended the crayons by lightly wiping with a baby wipe.

Sometimes after the blending is completed, there is a need to make the a section darker. You can do so by applying another layer of crayon to the desired section. Blending again with a wipe. Repeat until the desired color is reached.

During the month of June, the design team is applying BLING to their projects. I love using sequins on some of my projects. They add a fun dimension and sparkle to the final project. For the Bible Page, I included sequins that matched the different blues in the ombre water. The sequins are attached by using a small dab of glue.

I also used a baby wipe to blend in the colors on the different parts of the scene. To finish the page, I used a fine tip black pen and drew in the chain for the anchor.

Joy Clair Tip-in with God's Focus

Hello, Joy Clair friends! It is Jessi here. I am cannot wait to show you today's project! This month, the design team is working with layers. So today, I am sharing a tip-in I created to be added into my Bible.

Today's project is showcasing the Color by Faith's God's Focus stamp set:

For this tip-in, there is a front and a back to it. So let's start with the front. I stamped the hanging pictures image and colored in with a green marker. The camera is stamped onto printed paper and cut out. I used a fun bright piece of scrapbook paper for the tip-in. Multiple pieces are used to create the top layer. The pictures and camera images are attached. I used a printed tag to stamp the Bible verse. The tag is then added to the tip-in. To added a few more elements to the tip-in, I hand out some clouds and attached on different edges of the tip-in. A tab and printed banner are also attached.

When you flip the tip-in over, I decided to include a picture of the family god has blessed me with.  I wanted the picture to be the highlight of this side, so I only added one simple banner.

The tip-in is attached to the Bible page with a piece of washi tape. I did trim off a small piece of the tape next to the paper to allow the tip-in to flip easier.

Joy Clair's Flawless Bible Journaling

Hello, Joy Clair friends! I am super excited to be working with the new Joy Clair release! There are a total of 8 stamps being released. Four sets for the Color by Faith line and four everyday stamp sets. For the next few months, the design team will be presenting a variety of projects with the hopes of filling you with inspiration! During the month of April, the team will be using the masking technique on our projects.

Today, I am showcasing the super adorable, Color by Faith's Flawless stamp set.

To start this project, I stamped the images I needed onto stamping mask paper. These images will cover the stamped images to make the scene look like there is some depth.

Now it is time to start the stamping. You start with the stamped image that will be at the front of the and place the image onto the Bible page. Then you cover the image before you stamp the next one. You continue to cover the images in the places you do not the stamped image to show. When you finish the stamping, remove the masking paper.

I wanted the scene to appear like it was on a tabletop. I used an oval die to trace the inside and outside of the oval to form a mirror. Lines were drawn with a pen to create the table top.

Here is the complete scene before I started to paint it. I did forget to take a picture, but I used the Wood Background stamp and stamped it on the tabletop. I used a mixture of regular watercolors as well as metallic watercolors.

When the scene was completed, I stamped the sentiment/phrases in black ink. I also highlighted the Bible verse with the same watercolor shade I used on the lipstick image next to it.

Joy Clair - Designer Labels Bible Page

Hello, Joy Clair friends! I am happy you stopped by today. For the month of March, the Joy Clair design team is pulling out some of the order stamp sets and making some new projects with them.

One of the stamp sets that I choose to work with Designer Label's from the Color by Faith stamp line:

Clear Stamps - Designer Labels | Bible Journaling Clear Stamps - Joy Clair - 1

One of my favorite stamp techniques is paper-piecing. I love to stamp images onto printed papers and piece the images back together for a pretty outcome. The dress image in the Designer Labels stamp set is perfect for this technique.

To start this project, I stamped the dress image onto a variety of prints, as well as the alphas that were going to be used on the pages.

**Tip** If you find pairing up prints challenging, work with paper pads. The companies make sure that each print works with each other. Makes our job very easy when pairing up prints!

I had a vision for the page, but during the process, I decided to make the layout spread over 2 Bible pages. So below is the first page:

The dress is created by using two different prints. The bottom layer was stamped on a purple print. The top layer is stamped on a floral print and cut slightly short, so you can see the different layers of the dress.

The letters are stamped onto different prints. At first, I was planning on adding the alphas to the page, but decided to add them to a printed strip to make the letters pop more. To make the first page flow to the next page, I used a diecut arrow to point in to the directions.

I used a pocket card from the paper pad and stamped the words from the Designer Labels stamp set onto. The rest of the page is pieced together with a variety of printed papers and word/alpha stickers.

I love of the mixture of pinks and blues look on the 2 pages. Such an elegant combination to use in the Bible.

Joy Clair - Be Brave Bible Page

Hello, Joy Clair friends! This month, the design team is showing the different types/techniques that can be done with watercolors. There are several different types of supplies that can be used for watercolors. There are paints, stamping inks, and markers that can be used!

Today, I created a Bible page pairing up the Be Brave stamp set and Peerless watercolors:

Peerless watercolors are very bright and colorful. I was afraid that the color would bleed through to the other side, so I cover the page with gesso. To make sure the page dried completely, I left the page alone overnight.

When it was time to start decorating the page, I stamped the teepee image with black ink and allowed the ink to dry. I used a blue, purple, and black paints to create the night background. A dark green is used for the ground. I used a variety of other colors to color in the teepee. The phrase stamp is stamped above the teepee. I was afraid that the black ink did not pop against the blue, so I used a white gel pen and highlighted the main words. While I had the gel pen out, I added some stars to the nighttime sky.

I used a black pen and ruler to underline the verse I was focusing on. This is where I had planned to stop the page. At the last minute, I decided to randomly stamp the arrow images from the Be Brave stamp set. The images are stamped with black ink and colored in using ZIG markers.

Joy Clair February Release Blog Hop

Hello, Joy Clair friends! Are you enjoying hopping along with Joy Clair for their February Stamp Release? You should be arriving from the talented Lindsay's blog. If you just happened upon my post and interested in starting the hop at the beginning, start HERE at the Joy Clair blog!

So let's talk about this release! Isn't it super adorable! I am in love!!!

No automatic alt text available.

Today, I am showcasing the new Prayer Warrior set from the Color by Faith stamp line.

I started by stamping the images in a light color ink. I used a variety of watercolor pencils to color in the images. The colors were very light, I had to complete 3 layers to the color to get darker. Once I was happy with the coloring, I outline the images with the same pencils.

To complete the page, I used alpha sticker in a variety of color and sizes. I stamped the phrase onto the Bible page. I accidently smeared the ink as I stamped and did not like the outcome. I ended up stamping the phrase onto a printed paper and attached the paper to the Bible page.

Let's talk about the prize! Make sure to stop at each spot and leave a comment! This will increase your chances to win a $25 gift card to the Joy Clair store! You must leave the comment by February 6th at midnight.

Joy Clair Treasure Bible Page

Hello, Joy Clair friends! It is my day on the Joy Clair blog! Are you enjoying the newest Joy Clair stamps? I am! So many possibilities from the different sets!

Today, I am sharing one of my latest Bible pages using the Color by Faith's Treasures stamp set:

I used a variety of distress inks to turn the Bible page into a treasure map. The stamps are done in brown ink and colored in with colored pencils. I also used the Bible Planner stamp set to stamp the verse next to the X.

It is hard to photograph, but I added embossing powder to the jewel on the page. Once I hit it with the heat gun, the jewels now have a pretty shimmer to them.

With the guitar image being so big, I thought it would be fun to paper piece the image into the Bible. I stamped the image onto a pretty print and cut the image out. I cut out a green printed paper and attached to the margin of the Bible. On top of the green paper, I added a pink strip. The guitar image is then attached to the page. I stamped the verses from the Joyful Noise set at the top of the page.  Paper piecing makes for a quick and simple page and I don't have to test my coloring skills!!!
