WCMD Honorable Mention at PCS Magazine! Please VOTE!

I am excited to share today's card with you! A few weeks ago, Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine announced their "Honorable Mentions" for the World Card Making Day Contest! I was super excited to see my name listed for the 'Love' catergory!

Starting today, PCS Magazine is holding a contest for the 'Honorable Mentions' from the WCMD contest. Stop over HERE to find out more about the contest and how to vote for my card! I appreciate all your help!!!

I hope you like it as much as I had fun making it!

This card uses the 'inlay' technique with a variety of dies. To start the card I used the polaroid die from Echo Park to cut out of the back layer of the card. Using the same die, I cut the shape out of another patterned paper and slide into the empty space on the blue backing. The frame showcased the white space on the card base, so I decided to leave that empty. The wooden accents (Studio Calico) are glued to the card base. The simple sentiment (Sweet Stamp Shop) is stamped onto the frame. (It is hard to see in the picture, but I colored and cover the heart with Glossy Accents). To finish the card, I stamped the card sentiment (Sweet Stamp Shop) onto a banner diecut and attached to the card on a foam dot. I wrapped some red Americna Crafts ribbon underneath the banner.

Please stop on over to the Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking blog to vote!
Hopefully for my card...hint, hint :)

Happy National Coffee Day!!

Let me start with...

I am not a coffee lover...I know, I know! How can that be?!?!

However, I love the smell of it and it makes for some perfect gifts! So why not make some coffee related crafts!

Today, I am playing along with the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! Check out the details, HERE!

CoffeeLoversBloghopBadge

Here is my creation:

I used Sweet Stamp Shop's Coffee Town stamp set (along with their Around Town stamp set). To create the cup tower, I stamped the first image and then taped the bottom cup/saucer and inked the remaining image. I repeated that step a few times. The last cup was cut out and tipped over to look like a spill.

What to get more coffee inspiration? Check out the blog hop HERE to see some amazing projects!

Thank you Chaitali and Amy for putting together a GREAT blog hop!

Happy 'SWEET' Friday

Today, I am excited to share I card I made using some awesome Sweet Stamp Shop stamps! It was also time to break out the watercolors...AGAIN! The pairing of Sweet Stamp Shop stamps and watercolor is a match made in heaven!

I love the ability to work with several stamp sets that flow so well together! For the project below, I used Sweet Stamp Shop's Koala and Just the Basics.

Simple watercolors were used to create the background.  The koalas are stamped in gray ink. I choose to use a little shade of gray to color in the images. The sentiment is stamped in the same ink. A tiny twine bow is added to create the female koala.

Thank you for stopping by today! Love the Koalas? Check out the rest of the adorable creatures available in the Sweet Stamp Shop store!

SSS - Finding multiple uses for one stamp

Are you ready for another Sweet Stamp Shop tutorial? I hope so! But today, might be more of a tip...

Thinking outside of the original stamp image!

There are some stamps that can be transformed into a number of different images
 besides the intended image!

Want an example?
Take a look at this bomb stamp from the Sweet Stamp Shop's Super Mom stamp set:

If you turn the bomb upside down and cut off the spark/line, you can turn it into a balloon!

Do you see another example on the card above?

From the Triangle Style stamp set, I turned the word 'WOW' into 'MOM' for the sentiment of this card!

Take a look around the Sweet Stamp Shop store and see if you see any other stamps that can be altered in a different image. We would love to hear what you come up with! Please leave a comment on this post with your amazing idea!

SSS Tutorial - Creating your own overlay

Happy Monday Sweet friends! It's Jessi here from Kissin' Krafts. Today I am sharing with you, how to create your own overlay. I love the sunburst trend, but am limited with supplies to create it.

Sweet Stamp Shop's Dia De Los Muertos stamp set is used on this creation:

Using a long triangle die, I created the overlay by cutting out a number of 'rays'.

Time to add some color to the sunburst. I really wanted it to shout with colors.
So starting with red, I also added a few oranges and yellows to create the ombre coloring.
I blended the colors onto the paper using a piece of felt.

This was my first time to use an overlay. I think I am in love! Cannot wait to see what other designs I can come up with!

Ombre Stamping with Sweet Stamp Shop

Happy Tuesday, Sweet fans! Are you ready fro another Tutorial Tuesday? Today we are talking Ombre stamping. I am in love with the Ombre technique.

Today's card uses Sweet Stamp Shop's Chalkboard Sign stamp set:

The Ombre technique is very simple to complete. The best way to apply the different color inks to the stamp is to go from light to dark. The first color I applied to the stamp was the light blue. The light green-blue ink is added above the light blue. The dark green and darker blue are added towards the end.

I wanted the Chalkboard Sign stamp to be the focus of the card, so I kept the design simple and stamped the image twice. The banners are cut out and adhered with foam dots to add dimension to the card.

Alright, Sweet Stamp Shop friends! I need your help! What are the latest trends that you would like to see us explore in upcoming tutorials? I cannot wait to hear your ideas!

Sweet Tutorial Tuesday

Welcome to another SWEET Tutorial Tuesday! I know that we stampers know how to use our stamps the traditional way. But have you ever thought about using the back sides of the stamps? Don't know what I am talking about? Continue to read more! I have fallen in love with this technique!

It is SUPER simple! First, ink up the back of the stamp and stamp onto the paper.

Next, turn the stamp back to original side and ink, stamp, done...

If you are not great at coloring (like myself), this gives an easy way to color an image to match paper, etc. This technique leaves a smudgy ink look...not sure the correct way to describe it, so I hope you talk my language ;)

So I made a few of this tickets to complete my card. As you can see below, I stamped a design on the side tickets, using the stamp color ink. I love how it stands out!

I would love to hear some ideas of tutorials that you would like to see in the future! I love to learn new and fun ways to use Sweet Stamp Shop's stamp! Please leave a comment with your AWESOME ideas!

The fun Admit One and Chalkboard Sign stamp sets was used in today's card:

Have a wonderful day!

Sweet Stamp Shop Tutorial Tuesdays

Hello SWEET friends! Are you ready for another installment of Tutorial Tuesdays?  It's Jessi here to share with you 'how to add dimension' to your card or project. There are so many ways to make your card POP!

My favorite way to add life to a card is paper-piecing. Large images (like the large pinwheel from the 'Wheely Like You' stamp set) make this a simple technique to complete. All you have to do is stamp the image on a variety of papers and cut out the different layers of the image.

Another way to add dimension, is by adding different layers/textures to the design. As you can see below, the thickness of the button, foam letters, layers and the banner adds to the POP factor on the card.

Used is today's card, Wheely Like You:

Do you enjoy paper piecing? Do you have any tips about adding dimension to your projects? We would love to hear your thoughts? And would love to see you projects added to our Flickr group! And since you are uploading you projects to Flickr, why not add the project to Sweet Stamp Shop's Use What You Have Challenge (new challenge starts on Wednesdays)!
