Birthday Wishes

Hello, MarkerPOP friends!  Sorry for the late post today! But better late than never, right?

Today, I am working with a super adorable set from WPlus9 Design. The Modern Peonies set is full of floral images that are perfect for several special occasions.

The floral images are stamped onto watercolor cardstock. I used the masking technique to make it look like one flower is in front of another one. The flowers are colored in with ZIG Clean Color markers. The panel is attached to a foiled print. To bring out the gold, I decided to emboss the sentiment with gold embossing powder. The sentiment is cut into strips and attached on the front og the card.

The following ZIG markers were used on today's card:
020, 022, 041, 047, 065, 070

Please stop by the MarkerPOP blog to see the entire supply list for today's card.

Thank you for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Chunky Thank You with Prima

Hello, MarkerPOP friends! I hope your week has been a great one. It has been a busy one here, trying to get back to the normal routine after Spring Break. I had some neighbors helping me out, so I needed to come up with a fun thank you card to show my appreciation.

Today, I am working with Stampendous Chunky Thank You Cling Stamp and Prima Confections watercolors to create this card:

A stamped the image with black ink onto some watercolor cardstock. The image is colored in with Prima Confections watercolor paints.

***This is the first time I used Prima Confections paints. I am so pleased with how creamy and thick these paints are. I am not use to that thickness, so I will need to practice more with learning how to get light to dark shades of one color.***

To add some detail to the card, I added some sparkle to the butterflies by added a layer from the Wink of Stella pen. (It is hard to capture the sparkle in a photo.

To finish the card, I used a stitched rectangle die to cut out the panel with the image. The image is then attached to a black cardbase. I felt the card needed a little more detail, so I added a few drops of NUVO black Crystal Drops.

Thank you for stopping by today! Don't forget, there are a few days left of the Copics Birthday celebration...be sure to join in for your chance to win!

Have a great day!

Celebrate with Concord & 9th

I saw that Concord & 9th was going to start a new challenge blog, Where Creativity Meets C9,  starting next month. They are looking for a couple people to complete their design team. I love their stamps, so I decided to throw my name in the hat. It would be a great opportunity!

Here is the card I created for this design team search, using their

To create the background of this card, there is a stamp with 5 candles on it. I actually cut the stamp into five individual stamps. **Tip**I use to hesitate cutting apart clear stamps! But sometimes I only want to use part of a larger image. It is much easier to cut the stamp than covering part of the stamp with tape. It is easy to line the image back up and stamp whenever needed.

To start the card, I stamped the cake image in the center of the card. Candle images are stamped randomly around the card. To fill in part of the empty space, I stamped the star image. Time to color in! I used a variety of watercolors to color in the images. I used a light blue to fill in the background. Once the paint dried, I stamped the star clusters to all the empty spaces. The sentiment is stamped onto a die cut banner and attached to the card.

Interested in joining the design team search? You can find the details on THIS POST!

Good luck to all those who apply!

Have a great day!

Pink & Main Doughnuts!

Happy Saturday, Pink & Main friends! The November release is around the corner!

I broke out the watercolors to create a fun card using a new 'Free with $30 purchase' - Good Like That stamp set.

The donut image is stamped and embossed in white to create the background. The donuts are painted with watercolors. To fill in the empty spots, I stamped red hearts. The sentiment is from the new Baker stamp set. I curved the stamp to allow the words to wrap around the doughnut.  Even though it is time consuming to paint the donuts, this was a very simple and easy card to create!

Thank you for stopping by today! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

MFT Card Design Superstar #3

(Looking for the Pretty Cute Stamps Day 2 Hop post?
Continue to scroll down or click HERE)

This post will be my 3rd entry for the MFT Card Design Superstar contest.
Card Design Superstar

I took a look at the MFT Summer School Series and took some notes. I decided to incorporate the rule of thirds onto my card. The cupcakes dies and watercolor background fall in line with the rule of thirds. I decided to use pinks and purples to highlight this card. Once the cupcakes were added to the card, it seemed that the card needed something else. I decided to add texture to the card with the addition of sequins (sprinkles) on the cupcakes.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope to be able to crank out a couple more card designs for this contest! If you are interested in learning more, check out the post HERE.

Freshly Made Sketches/AEIHeartUChallenge

I recently found a new challenge blog, Freshly Made Sketches. Their current sketch is the 200th, so they are having a huge celebration! When I saw the sketch, I just had to play along!

The 200th Freshly Made Sketches sketch:

My take on the sketch (I flipped the sketch upside down):

I have been inspired by some many talented designers using the 'ink smooshing' technique. I figure it was time for me to give it a try! To create the night sky, I used a variety of blues, grays, and purples watercolors. Once the paint dried, I embossed stars with white embossing powder. The shooting star is created with yellow embossing powder.  The sentiment is stamped in white ink on a vellum pendant. The deer is stamped and colored with distress inks.

I am also playing along with the AEIHeartUChallenge - Embossing.

Little Tangles Challenge - Birthday

Happy Thursday, everyone!
Today starts a new Little Tangles Challenge and it is all about Birthdays!

I am using pieces from a few different Neat and Tanglesd stamp sets to create this card.

A simple sentiment is stamped in the center of watercolor paper. The sentiment is masked using a piece of tape. The floral images are stamped around the tape with a variety of distress ink colors. I give the ink a few seconds to dry. A dab some water on the tip of a paint brush and spread the color around the individually stamped image. Once the paint is dry, remove the tape. Attach panel to patterned paper and glue to the front of the A2 cardbase.

I hope you stop by the Little Tangles blog to see more of the design team projects.

Pink & Main Sun-Kissed Vacation

Happy Saturday, Pink & Main friends! Who is dreaming of a tropical summer? I know I am! How much better could it be than to sit on the beach with a good book to read? However, I don't have a vacation like that planned in the near future, so why not create a card to inspired by one!

For this card, I used the following Pink & Main stamp sets: Tickled Pink, Birthday Boy, and Planning Vacation.

The first step is to create the scene with a variety of stamps stamped with embossing ink and embossing with white powder. Once the scene is complete, it is time to bring out the watercolors. It is some much fun to watercolor this way. I am by far a beginner when it comes to watercolor. So having the embossing images, makes it easier to "paint in the lines". To finish the card off, the sentiment is formed from words on different stamp sets.

Happy Father's Day from Pink & Main

Let me start off with saying --- Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there--- from the Pink & Main crew!

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend! I know that Father's Day is tomorrow, but we started a little earlier today. Resulting in this late Saturday evening post!

Today's card, I used the Pink & Main's Super Dad stamp set:

I stamped the superhero in black ink and colored in, with a variety of markers. The background was super easy to create. A blue watercolor is used to create the sky. (Please remember to use watercolor paper...unless you want it to warp...oops!) I used a skyline diecut with black cardstock. A few windows were popped out and some yellow cardstock added to the back. Attach the superhero and stamp a simple sentiment! Viola the card is finished!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Create A Smile Guest Designer Call Entry

I am finally going to throw my name into the Create A Smile Stamp July Guest Designer Search. I love the Create A Smile images! And would love to be part of the talented team! You can check out the details, HERE!

Here is my Create A Smile creation using their Underwaterlove stamp set.

To create this card, I used a few different watercolor techniques to form the background. (Honestly, I tried one technique...ink smooshing, and it didn't really work out. So I finished it off with a traditional paint brush.) I also added drops of water onto the focal part of the watercolor. After a few seconds, I used a paper towel to soak up the water.

As the watercolors dry, I moved on to the stamped images. Using variety of markers, I colored in the images and cut them out. I stamped the sentiment onto a die cut banner.

Pink & Main Happy Easter

Can you believe that Easter is next week? Where does the time go? Perfect timing for the adorable Pink & Main's Chocolate Bunny stamp set! For today's card, I attempted the popular no-line coloring technique.

The first step is to stamp the image in a light color ink. I used watercolor pencils to fill in the spaces. The background is a blend of watercolors as well.  Besides the time it took to color the image, this is a very simple card to create.

Have a wonderful day!

Love You Soy Much

Happy Saturday, friends! I am breaking out the Pink & Main Stamps, markers and watercolors for today's project!

It is my goal to improve my coloring skills in 2015. Pink & Main images are super easy to coloring!

Here is my card to today's post:

The Pink & Main Stamp set used is the Pandamonium set. The bowl image is stamped, colored, and cut out. The pandas are stamped and cut out as well. On a piece of watercolor paper, the blue background is created using watercolors. Once the paint is dry, the pandas are added. Next, the bowl image is added using a foam dot to add dimension to the card. The simple heart and sentiment are added as final touches. It is time to piece all the layers (backing, cork, and picture) together.

Little Tangles Challenge - Watercolors

Happy Thursday, everyone! I hope you are enjoying your week and finding some time to create something wonderful!

Today starts a new challenge over on the Little Tangles challenge. And it is all about watercolors!

Here is my card using the Neat & Tangled Kindness Matters stamp set:

I am always inspired with the watercolor cards I have been seeing in the blog world. However, I find it very hard to create such beauties! After several attempts, I finally brought out some stencils to see if it will help me along the way!

I traced the circles with watercolor pencils. Once all the circles were done, I used water to spread the color some. Once the paint was dry, the sentiment was stamped and the card was finished!

Watercoloring with Lawn Fawn

Hello, Butterfly Reflections friends! It is my day on the Butterfly Reflections blog today!

Today is using stamps from one of my favorite stamping company, Lawn Fawn! I love the selection Butterfly Reflections carries! From the new and the old! Check out the Lawn Fawn selection to see what is in the store now!

Here is my card using Lawn Fawn's Wish You Were Here stamp set:

The bottom sentiment came from Lawn Fawn's Milk and Cookies stamp set. I love how simple it is to create the sentiment on a curve with clear stamps! I believe it adds so much to overall look of the card!

I attempted to watercolor the map to resemble the landscape of the US. I love how watercoloring can be somewhat forgiving!

Isn't Watercoloring FUN!!!???

So a few weeks ago, I submitted a handful or so of cards to a World Cardmaking Day Contest. Sadly, I didn't win! (However, one of my cards was chosen as an Honorable Mention!) But the good news... I can start showing some of the cards!

The card below was one of my favorite that I sent in!

Who doesn't love messing around with watercolors?! I love how it is perfectly OK to make a mistake and make it look like it was on purpose! The first step was to stamp and emboss the image (Delicate Blooms by Hero Arts) in white. Once the image was dry, it was time to watercolor!

I added a simple sentiment (from the Red & Goldie stamp set by Avery Elle) stamped in black. The last step was to create the card mat and attach to the card base!

Thank you for stopping by today! Check back soon for my of my WCMD creations! Including my 'Honorable Mention'!

CAS Watercolor card

Hello, Butterfly Reflections, Ink friends! I am excited to be filling in today on the BRI blog!

Today's project is showcasing some of the exclusive stamps from Butterfly Reflections, Ink! For my project, I used the Over the Rainbow stamp set.

So I found some pearlescent watercolors and fell in love with the additional sparkle it added to the projects! I was dying to use one to make a night sky. To start, I stamped the images and embossed them as well. Once the embossing had time to dry, I painted the night with silver metallic paint. I thought the card needed a little something extra, so I stamped the red heart.

What a very simple and so so easy to create!

Little Tangles Sketch Challenge

Happy Thursday, everyone! I hope you are enjoying your week and finding some time to create something wonderful!
Today starts a new challenge over on the Little Tangles Challenge

Here is the sketch to inspire you!

Danielle Walls's photo.

I decided to break out my watercolor pencils and create this card below:

The watercolor background is created with a mixture of blues and greens watercolor pencils and blended together with a dash of water. The house from the Neat and Tangled's Sweet Home stamp set is stamped and then colored with watercolor pencils as well. The image is cut out and attached on top of the background on the card. A simple sentiment (also from Sweet Home) is added to the card.
