Gallery Idol 2014 Round 2 is now open for voting!

Let Round 2 of the Gallery Idol begin! And it is all about Diecutting!

When I found out the theme for this round, I went to Pinterest for some inspiration. It was there that I came across the 'Die Cut Inlay" Technique. I will be honest. I was not familiar with that technique before this search. So the ideas started to come in. I made the first card and LOVED the technique!  I even made went on to make another! (Mainly because I was doubting my creation, but also because I had so much fun!)

So here is the card I submitted for Round 2 (and it was the first card I made using the technique):

To create the 'inlayed' target, I nested all the circle dies and ran them through the machine with two different papers. I separated the circles and re-created the target design alternating the paper.  Other dies used on this card were the heart die and the pendant die.

The finishing touches included the sentiment (made with both stamps and stickers). Wood veneers are attached using twine.

I truly appreciate you visiting my blog. I hope you will take a look at the other 19 talented designers! You can take a look at all the entries HERE. Please take the time to vote for your favorite!

Have a great day!

Pinch Me...Gallery Idol Top 20!!!

It's Friday! And a holiday weekend! Does it get any better?

I am super excited to share some wonderful news I received this morning! Our you a fan of Papercraft & Scrapbooking Magazine? (If not, check out their website and it won't be long before you become a fan!) Each year they hold a contest card 'Gallery Idol'. Similar to American Idol, with a number of rounds until they eventually crown a winner. So I decided to give it a try this year. The first round theme was Washi Tape. (A craft supply that I do not use very often.)

Over 200 designers submitted their cards and the top 20 were announced this morning! I am still in complete shock that my name is on that list!!! Check out the lucky 20 talented designers HERE. You will not be sorry, they are all very inspiring!

So here is my card I created using Washi Tape:

As you can see, I decided to make a washi banner. Not very original, so I tried to find a unique use for the washi tape. After several attempts (and disasters), I decided to use the tape as a masking agent and LOVED how it made the sentiment POP.

I used the following supplies on this card:

Stamps: Winnie & Walter Stamps - The Big, The Bold and You
Twine: Trendy Twine - Totally White
Ink: Assorted ColorBox Brights and Memento Tuxedo Black

So my task for the next couple of days is to make a card with the Round 2 theme - die-cutting! I hope you come back on Monday when the voting begins!!!

Have a wonderful and safe weekend!

It's Jessi, from Kissin' Krafts, and I am excited to share my latest creation using this month's spotlight twine, Bubblegum Taffy!  It feels like it has been forever since I made a card! My creative card mojo has been missing for a while now! Hopefully, this is a sign that it is starting to make a comeback!

So here is my CAS card:

The sentiment is popped up on foam dots, allowing the twine to wrap around the front of the card twice. **Tip** To wrap the twine around the front of the card, you can cut a small slit into the folded top of the card.

Stop by the Trendy Twine store to see this month's sales! They will be ending soon!

A Fun Weekend Challenge

It is one of those lazy Sundays around our household today! The boys are watching Ironman and the girls are getting their craft on!

Yesterday, Butterfly Reflection Ink released a sketch to play along with. It got my creative juices flowing today.

Here is my creation using pieces of the Pebbles From Me to You collection:

The original sketch (from the Butterfly Reflection Inks blog) for the challenge looks like this:

I decided to flip the sketch. However, I kept the main highlights the same.

It felt somewhat odd not using a single stamp, but so easy to build using the stickers and chipboard pieces.

Hope you stop by Butterfly Reflections Ink to check out their fun selection. It seems like there is always something new!!!

Supplies:
Pebbles - From You to Me Collection ( Sticker Labels,  Chips, and cardstock)
Studio Calico - Veneer Hearts

Happy Prickley Pear Monday!

Can you believe that March is already here? Spring is just around the corner! My favorite time of the year. So I decided to bring out the floral with today's Prickley Pear creation!

The PPRS stamp is suppose to be shamrocks, but I decided to color them pink, making the image perfect for several spring projects!

I definetly tested my coloring skills with the Bailey (HH0156). This image would look perfect in endless of color combinations! I have been wanting to use this paper for a while and thought this image would be perfect! I added a simple sentiment from the Spring Crosses 2 Clear Stamp set (CLR032A).

Be sure to stop by the Prickley Pear blog to see more design team creations! Have a great day!
