Joy Clair June Challenge

Hello, Joy Clair friends! Today is the 1st of the month, which means...time for a new challenge!

This month's challenge is Summer-Time. We want you to share how this photo inspires you! Is it the colors or the popsicles?

For me, I loved the colors and the scattered popsicles!

Today, I am using the Seas the Day stamp set:

This is a very simple card to recreate! I used the larger starfish image from the stamp set and repeatedly stamped around the panel in a variety of colors. I used the same colors on the sentiment to give the rainbow effect.

Please stop by the Joy Clair blog to join in the challenge and to find out the rules!

Thank you for stopping by!

Have a great day!

Joy Clair March Challenge

Hello Joy Clair friends! Can you believe that it is March? And that means that it is time for a new challenge over on the Joy Clair blog! So I hope you hop on over, get inspired, and join in the fun!

Here is the inspirational picture for this month, Spring Has Sprung!

I love the colors in the picture. So I decided to used those as my focus on my card:

To start this card, I  took the floral image from the Hugs & Smiles stamp set and stamped it multiply times around a watercolor cardstock panel. I gathered a variety of ZIG Clean Color markers to color in the individual flowers. It is hard to tell in the photograph, but I added sparkles to the gray dots around the image. The sentiment, from the Everyday Sentiments stamp set, is stamped in the middle of the panel.  The panel is then attached to a piece of vellum and attached to a purple cardbase.

Such a easy card to recreate! I hope you feel inspired to join in the Joy Clair March Challenge! Hop on over to their blog and add your creation!

Thank you for stopping by and have a awesome day!

MarkerPOP Twinkle, Twinkle Challenge

Hello, MarkerPOP friends! Did you see that a new challenge has started over on the MarkerPOP blog? I hope you stop by and find out the details of the challenge. Below is the inspiration photo for the challenge:

I paired up a few different companies to create this card:

I started with the background by blending a few distress inks to create the scenery.  I used a few browns and yellows to create the ground and a few different blues to do the sky. The stars are cut out using a star dies. I also used a scalloped rectangle die to create the panel.

The cactus stamp was inked with two different shades of green. The images are stamped and cut out. The cacti are attached to the scenery panel.  The sentiment is done with white ink and embossing powder. The sentiment is cut out of cardstock.

I hope you are inspired to join us in the MarkerPOP challenge! Hop on over to join in!

Thank you for stopping by!

I chose the Joy Clair Hugs & Smiles stamp set to make a card for this challenge!

DCWV March Stack-a-holic Sketch Challenge

Did you see that DCWV is back with their Stack-o-holic challenges? It is time to bring out those stacks and get to crafting!

Today, I am working with this card sketch:

And here is the card I made using the new DCWV Stack - Birds & Butterflies.

As you can see, I flipped the sketch onto its side for my card. I knew I wanted to use this cut-out bird from the stack, but had a hard time designing a vertical card with it. Once I turned it horizontal, the idea of the strip towards the bottom would be perfect for the sentiment. I added a couple diecut branches behind the bird to add my detail to the card.

Want to play along with the card sketch or check out the details about entering your creation? Stop by HERE for all the information!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Bring out the bling, the glitter, anything that sparkles!

I paired up a beautiful sentiment from the Pink & Main's Believe Script stamp set with a sparkling glitter cardstock. I really wanted the focus to be the glittery paper and the simple sentiment. To highlight the sentiment, I used a oval die to show off the wording.

Pretty Cute Stamps Challenge - Thank You

Today starts a new Pretty Cute Stamps Challenge! This month the challenge is "Thank you"!

I used the fun Many Thanks stamp set. This set is full of fun sentiments!

To create this card, I needed to use only part of one of the sentiment stamps in the Many Thanks set. In the past, I would take the time to tape of the unwanted parts, ink, remove tape, stamp and repeat. This process would have taken forever on this card. So I did something that I was scared to do. I cut the stamp. And I have to admit...I would do it again! It made the job super easy.

After I finished the repeat stamping, I decided the card needed a pop of color. I punched out a pink heart and stamped a simple sentiment. The heart is attached with a foam dot.

Pretty Cute Stamps Monthly Challenge Rules:

  • This month's theme is Thank You. So, create any thank you themed project using Pretty Cute Stamps. A Pretty Cute Stamp must be used to create the project.
  • Please link to your actual blog post...not to your blog.  If you don't have a blog, you can add a photo of your project to the current Monthly Challenge photo folder in the Pretty Cute Projects Facebook Group.
  • You can enter as many different projects that follow the monthly theme as you want for more chances to win.

    Little Tangles - Paper-Piecing Challenge

    Happy Thursday, everyone!
Today starts a new Little Tangles Challenge and  it is about one of my favorite techniques!

I love the Neat & Tangled's Giving Tree stamp set. I used that set to create a scene card.

To create this scene card, I started with the background. I used a couple prints and aligned them using a border die. The different parts of the scene are stamped onto a variety of prints. The images are hand cut and pieced together.

I hope you stop by the Little Tangles blog to see more of the design team projects.

Pink & Main 'Anything Goes" Challenge

There is still time to play along with the Pink & Main Stamps Monthly Challenge! Even though Pink & Main stamps are always encouraged, they are NOT required! If you do not have any Pink & Main Stamps, this is a great opportunity to try to win some! The first prize is a $50 gift certificate and second place will win a $25 gift certificate! Isn't that tempting to join in the challenge!

Here is a card I created for the 'Anything Goes' Challenge. It is still steaming hot here in Texas, so still plenty of lemonade being had!

I used the Pink & Main's Soda Pop stamp set to create this card. I simply stamped the images on cardstock and colored with a variety of markers. The images are cut out and attached to a lemon print background.

    DCWV September Sketch Challenge

Hello, everyone! I hope you are enjoy your weekend! It is a holiday weekend here in the States. And with the weather we are having, it is the perfect time to get some crafting done!

Today, I am sharing the card I made to go along with the DCWV September Stack-a-holic Sketch Challenge.

    Here is the sketch:

And here is my take on the sketch:

As you can tell, I switched the postage stamps to hearts. I decided to use a variety of heart dies to create the fun design. I used different prints from the DCWV Hello Darlin' Stack. The card base is created out of a bright, fun print from the DCWV Marquee Stack. To finish the card, I stamped a simple Paper Smooches sentiment one the bottom right corner.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Little Tangles - Mint and Gold Color Combo

    Happy Thursday, everyone!
Today starts a new Little Tangles Challenge and  it focuses on a fun color combo!

I am in love with the Neat & Tangled's Hoop Die and wanted to make it the focus on this card:

The background is a pretty mint print from the DCWV Happy Day stack. I used a DCWV Embossed foil paper for the Hoop Die. I also used the Hoop Die to cut out the 'Love' print. The two pieces using the hoop die and attached using the popular 'inlaid' technique. A simple sentiment from the Neat & Tangled's Scandinavian Flowers stamp set.

    Little Tangles Challenge - Birthday

    Happy Thursday, everyone!
Today starts a new Little Tangles Challenge and it is all about Birthdays!

I am using pieces from a few different Neat and Tanglesd stamp sets to create this card.

A simple sentiment is stamped in the center of watercolor paper. The sentiment is masked using a piece of tape. The floral images are stamped around the tape with a variety of distress ink colors. I give the ink a few seconds to dry. A dab some water on the tip of a paint brush and spread the color around the individually stamped image. Once the paint is dry, remove the tape. Attach panel to patterned paper and glue to the front of the A2 cardbase.

I hope you stop by the Little Tangles blog to see more of the design team projects.

    You're a Good Egg

It has been a lazy Saturday around the house, so I managed to sit down at my craft table and play along with the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge.

I recently bought a few Paper Smooches stamp sets from JoAnn's. When I saw the current sketch challenge, an idea came to mind! It was time to break open the Wake Up stamp set.

    Here is the sketch:
    And here is my take:

This was an easy card to put together. In fact, so easy that my five year old daughter made one as well! The hardest part of this card (for me, anyway) was the coloring of the bacon. I continue my goal of improving my coloring skills.

    Little Tangles Challenge - Watercolors

Happy Thursday, everyone! I hope you are enjoying your week and finding some time to create something wonderful!

Today starts a new challenge over on the Little Tangles challenge. And it is all about watercolors!

Here is my card using the Neat & Tangled Kindness Matters stamp set:

I am always inspired with the watercolor cards I have been seeing in the blog world. However, I find it very hard to create such beauties! After several attempts, I finally brought out some stencils to see if it will help me along the way!

I traced the circles with watercolor pencils. Once all the circles were done, I used water to spread the color some. Once the paint was dry, the sentiment was stamped and the card was finished!

    Merry Christmas to all!

    Merry Christmas to all!
I hope you are having a wonderful and peaceful day!

The Trendy Twine design team is getting together today to share some fun and festive cards to you!
I wanted to share a simple card with you!

I love the bold combination of red, black and white. I think it is a fun, non-traditional holiday color combo. So I created this card below.

However, it is not Christmas without a touch of green. I added the fun Trendy Twine Cherry Limeade at the top of the card. To add more green, a couple of green (and red) sequins are scattered on the card.  So simple and so pretty!
