DCWV August Stackaholic Challenge

Who is ready for the August DCWV Stackaholic Challenge? There are two amazing sketches available to work with this month! This month I decided to play along with the card sketch.

Take a look at this sketch:

Here is the card I made using the new Gilded Grey Stack available at AC Moore stores:

I chose to stick pretty close to the sketch provided. The only real difference is the part that shows three circular embellishments. I turned made this part by cutting words out of a print provided in the stack.

Happy Wishes DCWV-style

Hello, DCWV friends! It's Jessi from the Social Media Design Team. May is my birthday month, so I figured it was time to work with the new DCWV Confetti Stack! So I am sharing with you my first ever shaker card!

This is a very simple shaker card to create. I used a premade foam balloon for the shaker part of the card. The foam piece is attached to a fun print from the stack. In the back of the Confetti Stack there are several confetti packets available. I cut one open and added the paper pieces to the inside of the balloon. To finish the shaker part of the card, I added a piece of acetate to cover the front. I added a twine bow to the bottom of the balloon. I wanted a fun sentiment, so I used word dies with a piece of DCWV Gold Foil cardstock to finish the card.

DCWV March Stack-a-holic Sketch Challenge

Did you see that DCWV is back with their Stack-o-holic challenges? It is time to bring out those stacks and get to crafting!

Today, I am working with this card sketch:

And here is the card I made using the new DCWV Stack - Birds & Butterflies.

As you can see, I flipped the sketch onto its side for my card. I knew I wanted to use this cut-out bird from the stack, but had a hard time designing a vertical card with it. Once I turned it horizontal, the idea of the strip towards the bottom would be perfect for the sentiment. I added a couple diecut branches behind the bird to add my detail to the card.

Freshly Made Sketches/AEIHeartUChallenge

I recently found a new challenge blog, Freshly Made Sketches. Their current sketch is the 200th, so they are having a huge celebration! When I saw the sketch, I just had to play along!

The 200th Freshly Made Sketches sketch:

My take on the sketch (I flipped the sketch upside down):

I have been inspired by some many talented designers using the 'ink smooshing' technique. I figure it was time for me to give it a try! To create the night sky, I used a variety of blues, grays, and purples watercolors. Once the paint dried, I embossed stars with white embossing powder. The shooting star is created with yellow embossing powder.  The sentiment is stamped in white ink on a vellum pendant. The deer is stamped and colored with distress inks.

I am also playing along with the AEIHeartUChallenge - Embossing.

DCWV August Stack-a-holic Sketch

There is still time to join in this month's DCWV Stack-a-holic Challenge! Check out the layout sketch and the rules, HERE!

For my take on the card sketch, I am using one of the new stacks available at JoAnn Fabric and Craft Stores, Ocean Breeze! First up, here is the card sketch:

And here is my creation:

To create the banners, I cut strips of the patterned paper. The strips are folded in half over a piece of white twine. It is hard to see in the picture, but there are a few diecut vellum clouds placed behind the banners. A simple sentiment is stamped on a patterned piece at paper.

Want to play along with the sketch? You have until the end of the month to join in!

Little Tangles Challenge - Sketch

Hi! It's time to announce a new challenge today...
We are excited to be teaming up with Leslie Hanna and her sketch challenge for this one. Here's the sketch that Leslie created for the challenge...

Here is my card using the Neat and Tangled Send Pretty Mail and Everyone Circles stamp sets.

I am determined to improve my watercoloring skills. So I decided to use the flowers from the Send Pretty Mail stamp set to create two of the circles. The 'HELLO" circle stamp from the Everyday Circles stamp set was perfect for this sketch. I decided to leave the 'white space' on the card empty versus adding an additional sentiment.

I hope you stop by the Little Tangles blog to see more of the design team projects.
